Minute of Decision!
Surya , Hyderabad: Feb 18 2008

As the moment of decision draws closer and closer, there seems to be high tension regarding the outcome of the Pakistan General Elections. Never in history has such high intensity unfolded for a Country’s Election. Now as the people of Pakistan await the results of it’s polls, which were held today i.e. 18th Feb 2008, so does the entire world with it.
So many controversial events have took place in the past 4 months that probably have never in the history of the Country’s legislature have occurred before in the past. At first if it was the President Pervez Musharraf calling out an emergency and the Country’s losing all it’s stability till more recently when the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Ms. Benazir Bhutto was killed in a terror attack. Even more recently a suicide attack took place on a contesting party’s campaign. All these incidents have lead to a poor turnout at the polls as people feared more militant attacks. However, The voting process ended orderly and peacefully in most parts as were the words of Election Commission Secretary Kanwar Dilshad. It has been said by the officials that the complete results would be out in two days. All the major parties of the country are participating in the elections, which includes Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Awami National Party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Muslim League-N, besides a large number of other independent candidates.
It is very close to call out the votes in anyone’s favor right now. Musharraf, meanwhile, promised to work with the new government regardless of who won the vote, after a year of turmoil that has seen an explosion in Taliban militancy and growing public disaffection with Pakistan’s support of the US-led war on terror.

“I will say from my side, whichever political party will win, whoever will become prime minister and chief ministers, congratulation to them on my behalf. And I will give them full cooperation as president whatever is my role,'’ the president told state television.
